POKOTABI / Hoimi-do
ホイミ堂
A candy shop in Kitakagaya where traditional sweets meet a modern atmosphere. A welcoming stop with children, or somewhere adults can drop in on their own.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
At Hoimi-do, the pleasure of finding old-fashioned sweets comes with a contemporary feel. The shop is filled with dagashi, traditional Japanese snacks and sweets, and choosing what to buy is part of the fun. One visitor who went with their daughter noted the contrast between the nostalgic treats and the shop’s stylish, clean atmosphere. Their account suggests it is a popular place for children to spend time, while also making a good stop for adults shopping on their own.
The shop is also said to have figurines, including one of Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star. They add an unexpected discovery to the time spent browsing the sweets.
Hoimi-do is on the 2 floor of the Maruichi Building in Kitakagaya. It is open from 9 to 16:30 on Monday through Saturday and closed on Sundays.
